Featured Speakers:
In December 2005, AARP released a report prepared by Towers Perrin — Business Case for Workers Age 50+: Planning for Tomorrow's Talent Needs in Today's Competitive Environment. Join us to hear from Roselyn Feinsod, F.S.A., principal, Towers Perrin and co-author of the report. Roselyn will share an overview of this comprehensive report and key findings such as:
- Older workers are more motivated to exceed expectations on the job than their younger counterparts
- The benefits of retaining experienced workers can exceed the incremental compensation and benefit costs for older workers
- To compete in the retention race, employers need to make flexible working schedules, telecommuting options, part-time jobs, opportunities for training and new experiences, phased retirement, and other workplace innovations part of their job offerings
At Towers Perrin, Roselyn helps clients develop data-driven decisions to complex workforce and rewards program issues. She manages a variety of strategy, research and valuation projects, including workforce planning, total rewards optimization and establishing scorecards. Roselyn is a frequent speaker on workforce and rewards topics and has been quoted in publications including the Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, U.S.News & World Report, and HR Executive.
Diane Piktialis, Ph.D., Research Working Group Leader at The Conference Board (www.conference-board.org), will also share her expertise. The Conference Board is a world-leading business membership and research organization that has tracked aging workforce demographics and advised employers about the workforce implications for many years. Diane is a nationally recognized aging workforce expert with more than 30 years of experience. Previously, she led product development for Ceridian and Work Family Directions, where she developed the first national corporate elder care service in 1987. Diane has held officer positions with several professional associations and served on numerous boards of directors. She is past Chair of the American Society on Aging's Business Forum on Aging. Diane has published widely in journals including Business and Health, Quality Review Bulletin, Journal of Aging and Social Policy, Benefits and Compensation Solutions, Compensation and Benefits Review, HR Executive, and workspan. Diane is quoted frequently in the press and has appeared on the Today show, Good Morning America, Public Television's Right On The Money and National Public Radio's On Point.
