Seeking Entry-Level International Legal Professionals for work with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)
The Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) in the U.S. Department of State supports and is looking for qualified candidates for the Junior Professional Officer (JPO) program with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Generally speaking, an ideal candidate has an advanced degree in a relevant field; interest in and experience working on humanitarian issues, ideally in the field with refugees; and is proficient in English and at least one other UN language. PRM welcomes qualified candidates to apply at any time during the year, and currently has an immediate need for qualified candidates with legal expertise (i.e., Law degree and relevant work experience). PRM-sponsored JPOs serve as entry-level international professional officers (the UN P-2 level) for 2-3 years in refugee hosting countries throughout the world.
