FDA Launches Fellowship Program to Develop Pipeline of Scientists, Other Professionals
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today announced it is launching a two-year fellowship program aimed at attracting scientists, engineers and health professionals to the agency. The FDA Commissioner’s Fellowship Program will provide participants with advanced training in the scientific analysis involved in the safety and regulatory decisions unique to the agency’s mission.

$20 Million Marijuana Plants Removed by DEA
DEA announced the removal of over 7,200 marijuana plants yesterday from three cultivated fields located within the Cleveland National Forest, CA. The plants ranged from 3 to 7 feet in height and have an estimated street value of more then $20 million dollars. In addition to the marijuana fields, Agents located the trafficker’s encampment complete with tent, food, shower area, and miscellaneous personal items.

The United States Mint announced today that sets containing uncirculated versions of the second year of coins in the Presidential $1 Coin Program will be available beginning 12 noon (ET) on July 24, 2008.  The 2008 Presidential $1 Coin Uncirculated Set-containing coins honoring James Monroe, John Quincy Adams, Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren-will be offered at $15.95.
