Description
The United States Agency for International Development Timor-Leste Mission (USAID/TL) is seeking applications from qualified applicants to implement a program to strengthen the independent media sector and provide citizens with greater access to information, particularly in the context of the 2007 legislative and presidential elections in Timor-Leste. USAID anticipates one two-year award (cooperative agreement) resulting from this RFA with the possibility of extensions. This activity contains two interrelated objectives: 1) to support the development of a strong, professional and sustainable independent media sector; and 2) to engage citizens in the democratic process in the build-up to the 2007 elections, through strengthening the media's ability to deliver credible and useful news and current affairs to a broader section of the population.
