HCP has published the latest issue of Communication Impact, "Know Yourself" Toolkit Helps Reduce Pre-Marital Sex among Young Men in Bangladesh. It is available online at: http://www.jhuccp.org/pubs/ci/21/21.pdf .

The implementation of the Nijeke Jano (Know Yourself) Toolkit, part of the Bangladesh Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) Communication Program, not only contributed to a reduction in pre-marital sex among adolescent males, but it also improved adolescents' knowledge of reproductive health and their perception that their peers favor safer sexual behavior and abstinence until marriage. The "Know Yourself" program has grown to include radio and TV magazine programs, a TV variety show with mini-drama for youth, an HIV/AIDS awareness campaign, and a national campaign encouraging youth to Know Themselves to achieve success. A larger impact evaluation is planned for this year which will measure effects of the mass media program and toolkit implementation combined.
