and Messe Frankfurt Brings Together the Organisers of the World's Biggest and Best MI Industry Trade Fairs

CARLSBAD, Calif., September 5, 2006A brand new event for the MI industry has been announced for May 2007 in Beijing: CIMM  China International Music Market. Positioned as a "player's show" for the domestic China market, CIMM will bring instrument makers and suppliers from all over the world together with musicians, dealers and retailers from Beijing and the northern part of China. CIMM is a collaboration between China Music Instrument Association (CMIA), INTEX Shanghai, NAMM, and Messe Frankfurt � the organisers of the world's biggest and best MI industry trade fairs.

Though not as commercial a city as Shanghai, Beijing is known as the cultural heart of China, with a lively musician's scene comprising everything from classical western and Chinese musicians and players, individuals and orchestras, to independent rockers and pop-stars. CIMM will be extensively promoted to western manufacturers and suppliers of MI products and accessories as a prime venue for selling into northern China. It will give musicians from Beijing and the surrounding region the chance to see, hear, and play the latest high-tech instruments from all over the world.

"Through our positive experience in organising Music China (Shanghai) with the China Music Instrument Association and INTEX, we have become more deeply involved in the musical instrument market in China, and have greatly increased our knowledge of what the market demands," says Cordelia von Gymnich, Vice President of Messe Frankfurt. "China is so vast. We believe that a new MI trade fair in Beijing for the north and north-eastern part of the country is urgently needed, and it is for this reason that Messe Frankfurt whole-heartedly steps into this new four-way partnership to organise CIMM."

CIMM 2007 is noteworthy as it brings together the four organisers of the world's biggest MI industry events: The NAMM show in Anaheim, USA, Musikmesse in Frankfurt, and Music China in Shanghai. It will be the first time that these four international organisations have worked together to organise and promote a trade fair.

"NAMM is committed to industry growth worldwide, and co-producing the new China International Music Market with the other three partners will play a big role in developing the market in China," says Joe Lamond, CEO and President of NAMM.

NAMM will offer free professional training sessions at CIMM in Beijing that will educate attendees about ways they can increase their sales, market their businesses and succeed in today's changing marketplace. NAMM has 9,000 member companies from around the world, including 217 active Chinese members, which include the largest Chinese manufacturers.

"We will reinvest the profits from this event into growing the Chinese market and serving the interests of domestic and international members.
