To provide Coalinga State Hospital (CSH) Temporary/Relief Registerd Nurse(s) (RN), Licensed Vocational Nurse(s), and Psychiatric Technician(s) (PT) as described herein: Services will be requested on an as-needed basis, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Temporary/Relief RN(s), LVN(s), and PT(s) are to provide medical, surgical, and specialty services such as emergency medicine, psychiatric or nursing care, etc. to the Department of Mental Health (DMH) for the care of patients at Coalinga State Hospital (CSH). Temporary/Relief RN, LVN, PT services shall be used only when patient acuity levels or appropriate staffing levels cannot be maintained with civil services staff. To assure that evaluations and documentation meet the requirements and standards set forth by Licensing (Title 22) and the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organization (JCAHO). CSH may, on occasion, request bilingual (English/Spanish speaking) personnel.
The State reserves the right to award multiple agreements for back-up purposes. When services are needed, the "primary" contractor, defined as the lowest responsible bidder, will be contacted first. CSH anticipates to award to fifteen contractors.
