The Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) is a private, nonprofit, research organization, conducting nonpartisan policy research with an active outreach program. PPIC aims to inform and improve public policy through high-quality, independent, nonpartisan research and analysis of public policy issues affecting California. PPIC's research agenda focuses on economic development, education, environment and resources, governance, population, public finance, and social and health policy.
Dissertation Fellow
Dissertation Fellow:
The Dissertation Fellow position is designed for doctoral candidates whose dissertation topic and career goals are related to public policy issues. In particular, scholars whose research will benefit from access to PPIC’s databases and consultation with PPIC staff are encouraged to apply. Qualified applicants should be in a Ph.D. program that will lead to a career in public policy research. Examples of eligible fields of study include demography, economics, education, geography, political science, psychology, public policy, sociology, social welfare, and urban planning. Visiting Fellow
Visiting Fellow:
The visiting fellow positions are designed for candidates whose career goals are related to public policy. Qualified applicants will have a well-established career in research and a PhD. or equivalent experience in demography, education, economics, geography, political science, public policy, sociology, urban planning, or a related field. The PPIC summer internships are particularly appropriate for current students in graduate programs in economics, public administration, public policy, and related disciplines; recently graduated undergraduates with strong research skills and/or equivalent experience may also qualify.
