Love and Weddings Are in the Air— And in the Mail

U.S. Postal Service to Release New Hearts and Love Stamps

Images of the Wedding Hearts and Love: All Heart stamps

WASHINGTON, DC-- Love and marriage. They go together like, well, you know the rhyme. But you may not know the U.S. Postal Service will release three new love and wedding-themed stamps on June 10. In denominations of 42 and 59 cents, these new stamps add both elegance and whimsy to cherished correspondence.

The Wedding Hearts stamps feature vines that form the shape of hearts. Designed to add an elegant touch to wedding invitations and response cards, they will be available in two denominations to cover both the one-ounce and the two-ounce mailing rates. Each 42-cent stamp is intended for use on envelopes that accompany response cards that are often enclosed with wedding invitations, while each 59-cent stamp will accommodate the heavier weight of a wedding invitation with enclosures. Designed by artist Nancy Stahl, the Hearts stamps are based on Stahl’s memories of a wide range of intertwined objects, including silver charms and old-fashioned garden gates.

The whimsical 42-cent All Heart stamp will be a runaway hit when attached to thank-you cards, Valentine’s Day greetings and any correspondence intended to carry playful displays of affection.

The Wedding Hearts and the All Heart stamps will be available on June 10 nationwide in Post Offices, on usps.com and by calling 800-STAMP-24.
